Biography

First Lieutenant Douglas B. Fournet graduated from Officer Candidate School in Class Number 18-67, 1 July 1967. He was a distinguished graduate graduating in the top 20% of the class. His initial assignment was a Physical Training Instructor at Camp Darby.

His subsequent duty assignments include: Company D, United States Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, GA; Temporary Duty, United States Army Atlanta Area Installation Command, Fort Williams D. Davis, Canal Zone; Company B, 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), Republic of Vietnam.

His Awards and Decorations include: Medal of Honor (4 May 1968), Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge.
