Honorable John D. Dingell, Jr. was commissioned an officer of Infantry, OCS Class 317, 1944.

His subsequent duty assignments include: 1944 - Infantry Platoon Leader, Fort McClellan, Alabama; 1945 - 2142d Svc. Unit, Asst. Adj., Pers. Officer, Postal Officer, Special Service Officer; 1945-1952, 217th Airborne Infantry Regiment, Washington, D.C.

Mr. Dingell passed away 7 February 2019.
