Biography

Mr. William F. Buckley, Jr. was commissioned upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 4-46.

His subsequent positions as a civilian were as an Assistant Instructor of Spanish, Yale University; Associate Editor, American Mercury; Founder and President, National Review, Inc.; Syndicated Columnist of On the Right; Weekly Television Host of Firing Line; Presidential Appointee to the Advisory Commission on Information of the U.S. Information Agency; Public Member of the U.S. delegation to the 28th General Assembly to the United Nations; Chairman of the Board, Starr Broadcasting Group, Inc.

In 2018, Mr. Buckley was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the OCS Hall of Fame.
